Self-taught
while it is kinda impressive to be very skilled and not have had the opportunity or time to take classes, it doesn't make you or your art any better
classes in and out of the school system can sometimes be very helpful in grasping more technical concepts or getting good tips on how to improve and practice, etc
if someone were to refuse something that would help them become better, then their pride over being self-taught actually hinders growth, or at least doesn't let them take opportunities that could help them.
honestly idgaf whether or not someone's self taught or has taken one class or only highschool classes or has taken a ton of classes that cost money, but acting like someone is better or worse for being self-taught is so stupid lmao
